With the aim of expanding the footprint in Southeast Asia, Striders Corporation (Headquartered: Tokyo, Japan, President & CEO: Ryotaro Hayakawa) via its subsidiary, Striders Global Investment Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) entered into a Partnership Agreement with Indogen Capital (Headquartered: Jakarta, Indonesia, Managing Partner: Chandra Firmanto).
Striders Corporation (“Striders”), which already has a subsidiary in Indonesia (PT Citra Surya Komunikasi d.b.a. Chuo Senko Indonesia), believes that the Southeast Asia region would be the next growth driver in the world and Indonesia will become the Silicon Valley of Southeast Asia. Indogen Capital (“Indogen”) is a hands-on venture capital investor based in Jakarta. Through the two funds managed by Indogen, they have made 18 investments in 8+ countries in Southeast Asian region since 2017 and have already made 3 exits. Indogen’s excellent track record of helping the startups to navigate through the Southeast Asian market, has helped to position Indogen as the leading one stop service provider for both investors and startups. In addition to the investments, Indogen also helps the global startups to expand into Southeast Asia and regional startups to expand globally by leveraging on the strong network of business partners.
Striders Corporation, which follows a strategy of investing in island nations, already have a strong presence in countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Sri Lanka & Indonesia. Through this partnership, Striders hopes to further strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia by working together with Indogen to identify potential startups for investment. Apart from the investments, Indogen and Striders hope to work together to assist Southeast Asian startups to expand into Japan and South Asia. At the same time, this partnership will also enable Striders to bring in Japanese technology, goods and services to Southeast Asia through the Indogen’s strong network.
Going forward with the COVID-19 pandemic, Striders plan to leverage on the Indogen’s expertise to enter into sectors with high growth potential such as online entertainment, real-estate tech, fintech, AI, IoT and online retail in Southeast Asian region.
